Bobby Issar’s memorial donations matched by USMFHF

Following the tragic passing of long time US field hockey advocate, Bobby Issar, the USMFHF was proud to match donations made in his memory. In total over $3,000 dollars has been injected into the Men’s game supporting the recent youth trip to Chile and the upcoming National team series in Europe.
Four members of Bobby’s family have represented the USA from 1959. The highlight of Bobby’s playing career was winning a bronze medal for the USA at the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis. During his career he played in 26 countries. He is also remembered as a prodigious goal scorer in the indoor version of the game. As a coach he inspired generations of players with his club Spirit Eagles and also coached in our National programs and was a selector for both men’s and women’s national teams.
